It is easy to clean and doesn't take up a lot of space. Excellent for dicing or pureeing tomatoes, herbes, and vegetables from my summer garden for sauces too. It pulverizes ice in about 2 seconds flat, and has no problem blending even when completely full. The only problem is that the pour spout is almost non-existent, so depending on the consistency of what you blended, pouring can be tricky (particularly with thick frozen drinks). Everything was clean, not used, individually wrapped in plastic packages. You can tell it has a strong motor and it does a wonderful job blending, crushing, etc. The bottom of the pitcher is plastic although it looks silver. The base is stainless.
